My Story

In 2017, I posted, “Photography for me is something more than passion or art. It is that medium through which I started appreciating life. The time when I moved to India from Abu Dhabi, I went through a lot of change. Everything around me was different: the place, the people and eventually my whole lifestyle changed. I didn't know the language or many people besides my family. I was way out of my comfort zone and nothing that was familiar was around. Through all of this, it was photography that showed me a different perspective to life. It was something that kept me going. I started finding beauty and comfort in the unfamiliar and captured it all. And from there, I've started to look at things with a deeper understanding and started to grow as a person. Since then, I’ve started to appreciate all the different experiences I went through and now I try my best to look at the hidden and unseen beauty of the simple things around me."

Unknowingly, I had used photography as a medium to cope and express. After 7 years, I found that, this is called therapeutic photography and THAT is what I aim to do with 'The Expressive Lens’. Help people use photography as a medium to cope, express, and explore. Join me in this journey of self exploration through the arts where we will use visual media to explore concepts such as emotions, change, self expression and many more. Having been an arts educator and photographer for 4+ years and having a background in psychology, my journey now begins at the crossroads of psychology and photography.
